ALL ABOUT BOWS

Beautiful hand-tied ribbon bows are great accents on wreaths, gift boxes, green plants or baskets. Here, we give the instructions for making one of the most popular styles. In addition to ribbon, have scissors, a ruler and wire on hand.

 COLLAR BOW
This simple yet versatile bow can add a touch of elegance to a vase of flowers, a wreath, or a gift package. The best ribbon to use is wire edge.

 Step by Step Directions:

1. Using 1 yard of ribbon, determine the size bow you need and mark your center. Hold your ribbon so you can cross ends over to form a collar.

2. Bring back of ribbon to front and pinch tightly together at center.

3. Secure with wire and trim tails as desired.

4. For a double collar you will need 2 yards and one of your tails will be longer. Follow directions for a single collar bow, take the long end to back of bow forming a loop the same size.

5. Bring long end over to front of bow making another loop the same size. Gather ribbon together at center. For a center loop, cut a 6” piece of ribbon, form into a circle and place on top of bow. Place tie wire under thumb and secure. Trim tails.
